In this day and age of instant gratification, and drones that seem to automatically hover in the sky without any skill to fly them, people get excited about flying radio controlled planes.  Many members have heard the stories of people coming to the field with the story, "I bought this expensive jet because it looked cool, and 5 minutes later I crashed it into the trees."  

 

"I thought you could just fly it in my backyard."

Unfortunately it isn't that easy.  The cool looking and fast flying jet planes are certainly a draw, but not for the novice pilot.  We suggest you do a bit of research and look for trainer planes to get into this hobby.  Come out to the field on a nice day and talk with any of the members.  They'll be glad to suggest what type of equipment you should invest in when starting in this wonderful life-long hobby.  As you learn, you'll be flying bigger and faster planes before you know it !!
